Local Legislators Split On Smart Grid Bill: What Role Did Campaign Contributions Play In the Decision?

ComEd and Ameren donate more than $1.3 million to campaign funds in months leading to "Smart Grid" bill approval.

Senator A.J. Wilhelmi (D) received more than $10k in campaign contributions from both companies.  Did the contributions influence his decision to vote YES?

Representative, Emily McAsey received $1,000 from Ameron in 2009.  She voted AGAINST the bill.  Can we assume she can't be bought?

After reading BGA's investigation, are you for or against SB1652?

  2. Love the comment, Anonymous 3:48pm.

A.J. is all about the money, that's for sure. He seems to be a genuinely nice guy, but it's clear he's got political goals, and will do all that it takes to get there.

He plays the game well. Not sure if it will take him all the way to Washington DC.

But I really do enjoy watching him on display. Did you see him with his family at the Pathway's Parade in BB? Picture perfect.

    All too perfect.
